Easter Wedding Themes

Once the Christmas season is over, the next big holiday would be Easter.
An Easter wedding can be a really pretty and fun-filled event. Easter is also around Spring-time
depending on which country your wedding will be. Easter Sunday is a popular day for weddings
and it can almost be said to mark the beginning of the Wedding Season!
Assuming that you decide to have an Easter theme you must clarify what aspects of Easter you
would like to incorporate in your planning.
The color scheme can be the dreaded pastels but nice rich mauves with lilac can brighten up
the wedding party. If you decide to use pastel shades, then it would be a good idea to add
contrasting ribbons or shawls in stronger colors. With spring in the air at that time, using a shawl
as an accessory will not only keep the chill out, but can also create a dramatic effect on the
dresses. Pink, blue, yellow, light green, lilac can all be considered Easter colors.
The colors can be carried through in the decorations; the flowers at that time of year can be
crocuses, or lilies. Plenty of greenery will also bring the feeling of life after the long winter
season. If the ceremony is in a church, you will probably be lucky enough to have lots of flowers
on the altar as Easter-time is celebrated particularly with lilies.
The pews of the church can easily be decorated with miniature colored baskets of artificial
colored mini eggs and delicate satin ribbons and tulle to match the theme of the bridesmaids’
dresses.
The Easter Bunny is the star of Easter. Perhaps you can have an Easter Bunny cake or you can
even have a ‘traditional’ cake of your choice, and surround it with small Easter decorated cup
cakes.
A similar theme can be carried through in the reception hall. Here you can go overboard!
Perhaps the centerpieces on the tables can be made up with theme colored bunnies, holding
bowls of colorful Jordan almonds or Dutch chocolate mints. These are available in all the colors
that you would need. These candies are a favorite among wedding favors. The wrapping can be
done in the same beautiful pastel shades of tulle with curly ribbons. You can even attach a small
bunny keepsake to each favor.
If your wedding reception includes children, you could designate someone to carry out an Easter
egg hunt. This will make the children feel as though they are a part of the celebration as opposed
to being bored by all the grown-up activities.
An Easter themed wedding can be a memorable fantasy event!
