Homemade Wedding Accessories
The Wedding Day is fast approaching, and the list of ‘necessary items’ continues to grow!
This can sometimes be very daunting for the budget conscious couple that wants the perfect wedding at the least cost. This is not impossible nor is it unacceptable. For some, ordering everything from suppliers is the perfect way to go. Realistically though, not
all couples/brides can afford these luxuries. This in no way diminishes the wedding as long as the event is well planned and the ‘must haves’ are inexpensively supplied. So here are a few simple suggestions that you or you and your helpers can easily put together. You can schedule a date and time to perform these tasks and it can be done well before the wedding date. Be sure to serve some light refreshments & tidbits. The following items can be inexpensively prepared, be attractive and most of all can create a
fun experience for all participants!
Wedding Programs
Nowadays most people have access to a computer and can therefore create their own programs. Step by step instructions can be found on the internet. You can also make your own sample Program Fan before making the final decision. These fans can be very handy especially in the warmer months, or in a closed hall.
Edible Bombonieres
Like children, guests at weddings love unexpected gifts. Finding a pretty and enticing treat at your table is always appreciated. This treat can be sugar-coated almonds; miniature chocolates or any other candy. There are many attractive and fancy little pouches and different wraps to be had at a cost. You can easily purchase a few yards of voile fabric; nylon; lace or any soft and playful fabric in your wedding theme colour or even plain white. Cut the fabric into 7 inch rounds, or squares. Put the treats in the centre and pull the sides together and tie with a colourful ribbon or tie of your choice. Curling ribbons really add some cheer as well as some of
sparkles.
Table Decorations
There is no need to have expensive flowers or professional center pieces if you are on a budget. Cover the table with a plain white tablecloth, make a doily from shiny or sparkly fabric; cut into 16 inch Rounds and place a candle or a single vase in the middle. The vase can have coloured sugar or sand in it, or colourful jelly beans. Get creative! Use your wedding colours and highlight with a sprinkle of sparkle dust or coloured confetti.
Being an active participant in the wedding activities really adds to the build-up to the big day and for years later, there will be many memories shared about the time spent with friends!
